Today, I’m sharing something imperfect. For so long, I believed everything needed to be flawless before it was worthy of release. But life and art have taught me otherwise.

Creating art for me is a journey, sometimes joyful, sometimes uncertain. My process is intuitive and guided by feeling. When I create, it’s a mix of vulnerability, excitement, and the quiet voice that tells me to keep going, even when I hesitate. In those moments, I’m deeply present; afterwards, reflection brings clarity and valuable gifts, no matter how the piece turns out.

Growing up, I learned that mistakes were often met with criticism, that not being neat enough meant starting over. My creative work often triggers fears—will it be good enough? Therefore, I stack my artwork up and never share it with the world. It’s a constant wrestle with my ego and desire for perfection.

But hiding in silence doesn’t serve me anymore. I’m learning that real connection comes from being open about the messiness, the uncertainty, and the beauty found along the way. I hope my story inspires you to share your own, imperfect as it may be.

Below you will find a reflection that inspires me not only to love others, but also to love myself first. To seek love from a place of balance and nurture. I refer to “Reflections” as my artwork. Each piece offers a glimpse into the present moment, capturing feelings, colors, and emotions as they unfold, either through the color used to create the artwork in the moment or how I felt while making it.

Reflection: “Love Starts Here” A reminder to love myself first, so I can love others from a full heart.

Feeling: gentle, quiet, peace, internal softness, anxiety

By writing more, I can feel the importance of my feelings and allow myself to honor them, even while expressing myself through this newsletter. It’s such a great practice. I can feel suppressed feelings being unlocked, like I have been holding onto a huge secret all my life about who I really am. The version of me that lives behind the eyes and this human form. I feel like I am growing into this new version of self.

Listening to the song "Spring" by Elskavon reminds me of how important it is to allow myself to feel love through creating art. This music helps me reconnect with my feelings and let that love flow into my creative process, inviting more balance and nurture into my life.

If this all sounds great, please EMAIL ME with how this artwork made you feel, how you are feeling in the moment, and what inspires you to create. I would love to hear from you.

Additionally, the artwork featured in my newsletter will be available for purchase in the near future. I am currently testing different print studios and sharing my journey as an artist exploring how to find a print studio that meets my needs, offers quality at a price that makes sense to customers, reduces shipping costs, and more.
